Increasingly, Canadian government and legal institutions are recognizing that access-to-justice is a fundamental right for all Canadians.

In this environment, Law Protection Inc. (L.P.I.) stands alone as the only National private-sector provider offering legal assistance plans that address access-to-justice and affordability of legal services.

L.P.I. Plans provide members with:

• unlimited and confidential preliminary telephone legal guidance and self-help information; and, when needed,
• access to contracted, affordable, experienced, locally-based, legal services.

Access-to-justice is a life-essential need for all Canadians.

Now all Canadian unions have an opportunity, through the Collective Bargaining process, to ensure that affordable legal services are available to Canadian union families.

Participating Unions will reap the benefits of enhanced public credibility by playing a leading role in providing affordable access-to-justice for their member families.

Ontario research, sponsored by The Law Society of Upper Canada and other supporting Ontario legal institutions, has found that over 85% of lower and middle-class Ontarians, who engaged lawyers to address their legal needs, were satisfied with the legal service provided. Just as importantly, over 50% had legal costs under $1,000.

When a Union President recommends serious consideration of the inclusion of L.P.I.’s services in a Union Local Collective Bargaining Package, its officers, executives and headquarters staff, who are not employer-engaged, will be provided with complimentary L.P.I. LawNET™ memberships.

Recognizing that every union Local has many tasks on its plate, we have simplified and assumed most of the administrative burdens of this process.
