- L.P.I.'s system is designed to assure that all legal services are delivered on a Province by Province basis to members directly and confidentially by experienced, independent practicing lawyers.
This approach assures that no L.P.I. client sponsor is ever exposed to the risk of legal liability which could arise if legal advice is provided by lawyers not licensed to practice law in the Province where the call originates.
Most other Canadian providers use centrally located call-centres and internally engaged lawyers to provide telephone legal advice.

Most other legal assistance providers restrict the matters serviced to matters with obvious legal import. The L.P.I. approach enables callers to use the service for most crisis matters save for addiction and health issues. This also enables sponsors to use L.P.I. LawCALL as a broad based first contact tool.
- A Canada-wide network of experienced referral law firms and lawyers (“Referral Network”), including LSOs, which provide L.P.I. legal assistance plan members with locally-based legal services.
Over 300 law firms and 750 experienced practicing lawyers Canada-wide and growing. No other provider in Canada has such a broad based localized legal network on contract.
- L.P.I. legal assistance plans include more than 20 specific commonly used in-depth personal legal services and 20 specific small business in-depth legal services, which all L.P.I. network lawyers have agreed to deliver at affordable fixed prices. In addition, all non-listed services are provided at affordable preferred hourly-rate fees. L.P.I. rates represent savings of 25% to 60% off national average rates.
No other national legal assistance service provider in Canada has published pre-contracted preferred rates for specific services. They usually advertise a discount of 25% from a fee level unknown until after a service need is identified and requested by the legal provider.
