Why 1 call limit per issue? A lawyer will take as long as needed to explain the options available to deal with any legal situation. Therefore, a second call about the same issue is not required. (If one call does not resolve the matter - see 'Need to see a lawyer' below.)

Which lawyer am I calling? There is one main Legal Service Office (L.S.O.) in each province. L.S.O.s are available during normal business hours, with a separate emergency number for evening and weekends.

I had to leave a message. When will I hear back? Your call will be returned as soon as possible during the regular business week (Monday through Friday), but no later than one business day. To protect your privacy, messages are not left by the lawyer if you are unavailable unless specifically requested by you.

Am I covered while travelling in the U.S.? A separate number provides access to legal services with respect to U.S. matters.
